If you watched the new gameplay video for Brink released today you'll have seen a bunch of cool abilities demonstrated, like hacking an enemy turret and reviving yourself. But what you might not have noticed is the ton of info contained in those very brief glimpses of the game's menus. Well, fear not, we've been through it frame by frame and below we've detailed what there is to learn from them. And it's a lot!

What we learned from that new Brink gameplay video. Brink02

Ok, some of this may have been released already, so apologies for any repetiton. But we're pretty sure a lot of this is new. So here goes.
4 classes were demoed Solider, Operative, Medic & Engineer.
Judging by the layout of the menu screen where you buy abilities, there are 12 abilities to unlock per class.
Below are the abilities and their descriptions taken directly from the ability unlock screens glimsped in the video.
SOLDIER ABILITIES
Flashbang Grenades temporarily blind enemy players who see them detonate. Teammates who see them will only see a brief flash, unless you are playing a in a Friendly Fire match, in which case they can be blinded too. There is a cooldown period between successive uses.
Standard Solider Kit - Soliders complete Destruction objectives using HE Charge, and can ressupply their teammates' ammo, as well as their own. Soliders also carry Molotov Cocktails by default, giving them more grenade power than any other class.
Molotov Cocktails explode on impact burning everything in their blast area. There is a cooldown period between successive uses. This is a part of the Standard Solider Kit and can be mapped to any direction on the Ability wheel.

OPERATIVE ABILITIES
Comms Hack lets you extract intel from incapacitated enemies. If successful, every enemy's location will be shown on your and your teammates's radars, giving your team a huge advantage.
Hack Turret lets you reprogram an enemy turret to become a friendly turret, owned by you. Approach the enemy turret from behind to improve your chances of hacking it.
Firewall Command Post makes it take longer for an enemy to capture your team's Health or Supply Command Post. This is accomplished by accessing the Command Post wheel for an extended period of time. During this process, a progress meter will appear on screen.
Sticky Bomb lets you throw a powerful grenade which sticks to any enemy it touches and can only be removed by their teammates. Enemies can destroy the sticky grenade by shooting at it while still on the ground. There is a cooldown period between successive uses.

MEDIC ABILITIES
Improved life buff let's you increase a teammate's health by two pips, instead of the usual one pip. You cannot administer this buff to yourself
Self Resurrection allows you to revive yourself when incapacitated. There is a very long cooldown period between uses

ENGINEER ABILITIES
Command Post Upgrade allows you to upgrade any Health or Supply Command post to double its effect on the entire team. This is accomplished by accessing the Command Post wheel for an an extended period of time. During this process, a progress meter will appear on screen.
Improved Weapon Buff allows you to even further increase your teammates's weapon damage. You cannot administer this buff to yourself.
Gattling Turret - This lets you plant a Gattling auto-turret which will detect and fire at any enemies. You cannot purchase this Ability wihtout first purchasing Light Turret and Medium Turret.

The video also showed the character customization tool in action. In particular, it revealed there will be...
- 15 different Hair & Head Gear options (which included a Beret, a buzz cut and a flat top)
- 11 different types of pants (or trousers as we would say in the UK)
- 15 different jackets. We particularly liked the The Bouncer, which kinda looked like a deep sea diver suit without the helmet
Brink releases on PS3, 360 and PC on May 17 and May 20 in North America and Europe respectively.
Watch the video now.
